The yield from Customs revenue in New Zealand for the year ended March 3lst'was> £8,507,010, and the cost of collection amounted to £97,550. The main items were Customs duties (other than duties on motor spirit and rubber tyres for motor vehicles), £5,027,312. Duty on motor spirit (petrol tax), £1,395,823. Sales tax, £38,253. / Excise duties on beer, £654,227. Tobacco, cigars and cirgarettes £719,252. Spirits used in manufacturing warehouses, £19,822. ■Sugar, £365,028. Export levies on meat, £37,823. Dairy produce, £48,134,
