OF EVIDENCE GIVEN. (¥** Press Assnrintion — copyright ) DUNEDJiN, September 28. Evidence was given before the Tariff Commission in Dunedin on September 12, by Mr Roland Ellis, who supported a request that the present duty of twenty per cent on quilts should be retained. Mr Ellis explains that Iris critical remarks concerning a certain class of English down quilts, which wore circulated in a Press Association message, referred only to the invest grade productions, and not to other and hotter grades of quilts imported from England.
