Ae the fate of the missing launch; Santina, several Italian launches went; out this morning and searched the coast line in the vicinity of Baring Head. A party of -police traversed the coast between Soatoun and Island Bay, The funeral. service was held this afternoon by th& crews of the Italian Fishing Fleet, one mile and ft half east south-east of the outer rook of Barrett’s'Reef. Twenty-six launches Ijpft Island Bay at 2 p.m., and the service was organised by -tlio Cook Strait ■ Fisherman’s Association, the service occupied about an hour and a half. . ' • • ‘
Tlie main reason for the holding of the service this afternoon was that it was .definitely considered by the fishermen there was no chance of the survival : of the occupants of the launch. A.s all of the fishermen wished to attend the funeral {service, itt was thought better to hold it to-day than to -wait until later.
