TO TARIFF BOARD. S SYDNEY, September 24. Mr Tanabe, the secretary of the j d <a P*anese' Chamber of Commerce, at I Sydney, told the Federal Tariff Board that there is the danger of the trade relations between Japan and Australia being imperilled if dumping duties ;are imposed by Australia on her imj por,ts from Japan, where the attitude 1 of. the Commonwealth was now eaus- ‘ iug feeling to run high. The chairman of the Board, Mr McOonaghy, said thta dumping duties had been imposed by other countries at various times. Japan was not singled .out. for special attention. Mr Holt, representing, the Chamber of Manufacturers, said that while Japan was, at- present, Australia’s greatest anxiety, there were other countries from-which Australia’s position may be attacked.' A fixed rate in the foreign column of the tariff .' would be preferable to a dumping duty on individual countries. ,
