Chapman, of New Bright" ton, was injured. His horse crossed its legs and fell. Mr Chapman’s collar bone was badly broken. He was taken to-' the- Geraldine: Hospital. PROMISING COLT DIES , i AUCKLAND, September 23. The two-year-old, Peter’s Pride (Chief Ruler-—Cymene), .half brother to Cylinder, was destroyed at Talianini, .on Thursday. The colt met with an a.cc.dent three weeks ago, tetanus setting in this week, He was owned by Major P. .Keer Smiley, who paid 400 gs for -him at the last Trentham yearling sales. He ■ •was -the most-promising youngster at Takanini.
