At the Pacific -South-West tennis tournament, Quist defeated Dale Issenhiitli (Los Angeles) I—6, 6—l, 6—4; Wilde defeated William Seward (Beverley Hills) 2—6, 6—l, 6—4; Perry defeated Cliff Johnson (California) 6—o, 7—5 In the third round Perry defeated Elbert Lewis \Los Angeles) 6—2, 6—2; Stoeffen defeated Lee B—9, B—6, 6—o; Jack Tidball (California) defeated Quist 6—4, 6 —2; Turnbull defeated diaries Otis (Pasadena) 6—3, 4—6, 6—4; Van Ryu defeated Wilde (England) 6—4, 6—l. Quist was unable to handle Tidball’s fast service and counting shots to baseline, and was eliminated in straight sets. Turnbull had a- difficult time in defeating Otis in three sets.
