MEXICAN TROPICAL HURRICANE

MEXICO CITY, September 18. The death toll from Friday’s tropical hurricane mounted to-night to one hundred and thirty-five. ■As the swollen streams have -receded, troops have recovered ' forty-five more bodies ill -San Luis Po.tosi, and twenty-one in Tampico. NORTH CAROLINA VISITATION. NEW YORK, September 18. A message from Newbern, North Carolina, states : “Fifteen dead, many missing, hundreds homeless, and a property -loss of millions of dollars were listed to-night as the North Carolina coast counted the cost of a hurricane that occurred on Friday and Saturday. There are -still many small communities almost, wholly desolate, lacking food and shelter.”
