N.S.W. UPPER HOUSE
LANG’S APPEAL AGAINST BILL
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph-Copyright.)
LONDON, September 19
The report that J. T. Lang, the Opposition Leader in the New South Wales Assembly is petitioning. His Majesty the King to withhold the Royal assent to the N.S.W. Legislative Council Reform Bill, has puzzled the Dominions Office, which is not aware that any appeal is pending to the Privy Council.
The Royal assent has already been given to the Bill. Therefore the Bill becomes law. But Mr Lang appears to seek the revocation of the assent, or, in other words, asks His Majesty bo revoke his own decision, which is final.
