HITCH IN THE SCHEME LONDON, September 7. 'Experiments in the Soviet’s s-.chcmy to import 100 pairs of emus from Australia, each of which sh mid provide 15 young annually, as a means of of solving the meat problem, have revealed an unexpecting difficulty, reports the Riga correspondent of the Times. They show that in Russia the female emu lays 20 eggs annually. But even the Soviet can not compel the male, who incubates them, to hatch ore than 10 eggs. Experts, therefore, are constructing special incubators to deal with the surplus.
