OF JAPAN BY BRITAIN LONDON, September 7. Britain has definitely assured Japan, that the Empire does not propose to institute a trade boycott against her. These firms, it is said, inspire provocative messages to British Empire newspapers .and are practically anxious to alarm Australian woolgrowers, hut Britain regards the negotiations hopefully, in view of the Japanese Government’s friendly attitude.
