TRIBUTE PAID
TO THE LATE BERT HINKLER ITALIAN MONUMENT UNVEILED. i United Press Association—By Eiectrn ' Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, Sep. 17. The Arezzo monument to Beit Hinkler was unveiled at Pass Della Vaehie, at an altitude of 3,201) feet, designed by the architect Pelleri, in the iorm of a seven-foot column, having lictors and fasces crossed by the Roman eagle in flight, and inscribed, "To the long distance flier, Herbert Hinkler, who fell here 8/1/XI,” (the last figures standing for the eleventh year of the Fascist Era.) A distinguished assemblage included Colonel Stevents, British Military Attache at Rome. Colonel Stevens and Mr Parkes addressed the assembly, expressing the thanks of the British and Australian Governments, and the Hinkler family. Two aeroplanes from Arezzo air-port circled during the' ceremony. Messrs Stevens and Parkes visited the Fascist home, Starada, where the propellor of Hinkler’s machine is. preserved, and lengthily talked with the charcoal burners who first discovered the wrecked machine,
