MEETING OF. EXECUTIVE HELD. The executive of the Hokitika branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association met last evening when there were present the-president- (Mr W.-E. Brown), and Messrs Thornhill Cooper, T. : Stuart, C. Hart, R. Appleton) J. L. Menzies, T. Lynch, and the secretary (Mr R. Paterson). Communications- were received- from the New Zealand Red .Cross Society (Incorp.) regarding .distribution of issue to mental patients. The Waimate branch .advised . that its financial members totalled 113 /Hokitika- at this date stood at 84). The Kum'ara and "Ross sub-branches acknowledge receipt of, canteen fund allocations and forwarding aCUst' of financial members. Details of poppies required for the next appeal were received from Ross and Kumara. Badges for new members wer© received from headquarters. Headquarters further wrote. advising requirements regarding a war p&nsion case. It- also advised the remittance of £lO from the canteen fund Julyallocation.. The minutes of the last Dominion executive meeting were received and discussed. , A case of a war pensioner at Kumara. w'as left with the secretary to take action deemed necessary with headquarters. The tender of Mr 3. Stuart for 12! additional forms was accepted . The secretary was instructed to* make inquiries regarding insurance. The balance sheet of the hard-up ball was approved. The balance, sheet of the annual re-union showed a deficit of £4 6s 7d.‘ Three new members were accepted. The secretary advised that the financial members at the present date total 105. It was decided to pay £25 off the debt oU the hall.
