OBITUARY

The death of Mrs Norah Colton, of South Beach, Greymouth, took place last nignt. A native of County Clare, Ireland, deceased was 83 years of age, , and had resided 53 years in the district. She leaves five sons and four daughters. The <lea th of Mr John Joseph Murphy an old resident of Greymouth took place last evening where he had been •a bootmaker for the past 45 years. He leaves a wire and three sons, John and Cecil (Greymouth) and Rev. Brother Gerald of the Sacred Heart College, Auckland, and two daughter's, Misses Johanna and Sheila Murphy of Greymouth. The death took place on Sunday night at her residence, Blake Street, Blaketown, of Mrs Martha Jane Weaver, wife of John Henry Weaver, aged 52 years. The deceased, who had. suffered a- lengthy illness, was a native of Yorkshire, England. She came to New Zealand 38 years ago, and for a number of years resided at Taylorville. Later she lived at Coal Creek. She is survived by her husband, and three sisters, Mrs S. North (Greymouth) and Misses Elizabeth and Emma Waite (Coal Greek). The death took place in the Buller District Hospital, on Sunday ’of Mr George S. Hayes, at the .age of 74 years, Deceased arrived in New'Zealand when only a boy and served, his apprenticeship to the /printing trade in Hokitika. He wag lated associated with the Takaka. Press las journalist and (printer, and at the time of his death he was a director" of the ‘ ‘Mur- | chison Standard” Company/- ia paper I which at one time he owned. He is | survived by his widow, two daughters and five sons.
