OBITUARY
WELL-KNOWN OAMARU MAN (Per Press issociation — Copyright \ OAMARU, Sept. 18. The death occurred last evening of a prominent citizen of Oamaru, Mr A. G. Creagh, aged 83. Deceased ' v a,3 horn at Dublin in 1850, and came to the Dominion as a boy. He was educated in Dunedin, and was articled to Mr B. C. Haggitt, being admitted as a barrister in 1875. He has practised in Oajnaru ever since. Founder of the firm of Hislop and Creagh ' (how Hislopj Creagh and Main), he was Crown Prosecutor from 1885 till recently, find for many years was solicitor to the borough, and county councils, and harbour and hospital boards.
He was keenly interested in all kinds of sport, and at one time owned •racehorses. He was the valued patron of racing, cricket, rowing, football athletic, cycling and rifle clubs. As a young man lie was a keen volunteer on the Dunedin Navals from 1867 to 1875, and captain of I Battery, Oamaru, for several years. He founded the Waitaki Mounted Rifles in 1901,
