FIANNA FAIL
. PARTNERSHIP WITH LABOUR. CONDITIONS OF 'SUPPORT. United Press Association—By Ele ’trie Telegraph—Co p.vright.) LONDON, September 14. The “Daily Telegraph” says:— Mr de Valera has negotiated a definite partnership with the Labour party. The Labour party is willing to support him on condition that the following measure are adopted : Pensions for widows and orphans, unemployment relief, ,a house building scheme, and workers’ compensation.. The only obstacle to a complete fusion of tlie Labour party and the Fianna Fail party is that the Labour leader, Mr Norton, insisted upon the setting up of an expert headquarters staff, which would plan legislation for tlie Government,
Mr Sean Lemass, the Minister of Industry, resents this idea, as it would swallow up his department. Thirty-seven thousand people in Dublin alone are now being maintained by civic relief funds, representing one in eleven of the whole population of the city.”
