Mrs Guy Wiliams, manageress of fclie New Zealand women’s golf tour, interviewed, said the team had had a wonderful and most successful time in Melbourne and Sydney. It would leave behind many warm friends whose hospitality had been overwhelming. The team was proud to take away the Tasman Cup. She added: “We feel these contests to be most beneficial and to be an incentive to the younger generation to improve their play and aim to represent their country against sister Dominions. We have been privileged to see some of the best golf in the Southern Hemisphere. We shall nevpr forget it. I must admit we have nothing to equal the championship courses in this country.” VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS MELBOURNE, September 13. The semi-final rounds of the thirtysix holes professional and amateur championships. were played to-day at the Royal Melbourne Links. Amateur results were: W. L. Hope (Victoria) defeated Jim Ferrier (New South Wales) 5 and 3; A. W. Jackson (Victoria) defeated H. L. Williams (Victoria) 1 up. Tne professonal results were: A. Spence (Victoria) defeated) C. Grax (New South Wales) 4 and 3; V. S. Richardson (New South Wales) defeated M. L. Kelly (New South Wales) the open champion, 5 and 4.
