John Ambulance, two men were prosecuted this nn>'o>ng I°* selling tickets, and £0 committing breaches of the Gaming Act. William Thomas Charles Wortley and Stephen F. Willard, both of Welling ton, pleaded guilty and were fined £2 each and costs by Magistrate Mosley. The police said attention had P‘'«' viously been drawn to the fact mat a prosecution was liable. The sale had stopped, but the two defendants came from Wellington in July and continued to dispose of tickets. The Minis.er had not granted permission fo.' the raffle as the Act did r.ot allow h.m to do so. >
