Hie “Daily Chronicle’s” Vienna correspondent says: “The Prime Minister of Austria, Doctor Dollfuss’ decision to give .an authoritative leadership for a Christian corporate state, has won an immediate response. It is felt that the Premier lias stolen the Nazis’ thunder. There aro three parties supporting him, and they have decided to cease their quarrels and to present a united front against the Nazis.”
“The Times’ ” Berlin correspondent says: “In the meantime there is no likelihood of any relaxation of the German campaign against the present Austrian Government.”
FAMOUS (MUSICIANS DECLINE

The “Daily Herald” states: Furtwangler, the state conductor in Prussia, invited many famous musicians, including Jews, whom the Government promised special protection, to perform at Berlin, but all except Hofman, the Polish pianist, living in America, refused, including Cnsals, a Spanish cellist; Cortot, a French pianist; Hubennau, a Polish violinist; Schnabel, an Austrian pianist; Horowitz, the Russian pianist; Fritz Busch, conductor, and Kreisler, the violinist. An Egyptian, violinist, Menuhin, said he would be glad to perform under the conductorship of Bruno Walter, who recently lost bis job at Berlin because he was a Jew.”
