ENORMOUS DEFICIT
i ANTICIPATED IN JAP BUDGET. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) TOKYO, September 12. M. Takahashi, in'a statement to the press, said that the requirements of Japan’s national defence must have priority in (the forthcoming budget thereby postponing the plans for a financial readjustment. Thi s is clearly the result of M. Araki’s interview (cabled yesterday). The extraordinary expenditure on the army and navy is estimated at eight hundred million yen, and an enormous budget deficit i.s inevitable.
