FOILED PLOT
TO STEAL RELIEF WAGES (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, September 10, A skilfully arranged plot to hold up the car of officers paying unemployed relief workers in the Randwick districts was foiled by the police who provided strong escorts at several points The would-be robbers were evidently' alarmed and the payments were made without event. About tw 0 thousand pounds was involved. A decoy c*ar was used, but presumably the plotters were warned.
