The 26th arnrni meeting of the Hoki'tika Bowling Club was held last evening iu the pavilion, the president; <Mr 0. J. King, presiding over a fair attendance of members. An apology was made fbr the ab-' sence of Mr- Thornhill Cooper. The minutes of the last annual meeting were confirmed. . .. The resignation of Messrs ’R. Cox arid Gv Hd Coles as mbifibefs were received and accepted with- regret. The following neW 'meiilberS were elected : —Mbssrs' H. 1 Newman; 6 G. Bryant, H. Wells, A. McDougnll, J. Hopkins, and F. McCabe.
’ 25:h' ANNUAL MEETING. - • - - ■ t REVIEW OF PAST SEASON. The report stated., that the Club had a fairly successful past season. The weather was favourable in the early part of the. season, but from early in February the weather was very wet and interfered considerably with the following ,plav. The green was' in good g>ondi ion laj’id visitors at the tourney were loud in their praise of its playing condition in spite of heavy rain that occurred. The mefnbenship remains about stationary, and as a result every cafe is necessary to safeguard the finances. During the" season .the. final of' 19.31-32 year’s singles was played, Mr J. J. Breeze proving the winner, while last sbi's-on the singles championship was again secured by. Mr D. Skevehson, who defeated M r T. Cooper "in the filial. The Greymouth Glub visited Hokitika and played a game for the..;, Reynolds Badges and ; the visit was returned, the Grey.; Club proving, the ' winners; of each- contest.- : . . ,

the annui 1 ball. ' - ; " ~ ' - At .last annual riVfeeting 'Mr 'C. JKing was re-elected President, and Mr H. G. Coles was elected Vice-president. During the year the • pavilion avals repaired a»d painted, and no expenditure 1 will b e necessary during the current season.
One young member, Mr R. Bell, was transferred fromi-the district and a very promising member is, lost to its; The -b‘al ance sheet showed general receipt's totalled £lls 11s 6d, including tourney receipts of£39 and ball £l3 Is 6d. The payments included tourney expenses £3l, caretaker £SB, totalled £ll6 14s 4d ,leaving' a'erddit balance of £5 8s lOd.with two'accounts unpaid; The. president before .vacating ..office returned thanks to members for'tlie support accorded during the prist year. Stevenson, R. Coilett,-' J. G. Lnkiii, J; Breeze,; J. Kerr, W. F. Cbbke and J. Conning; delegate to Cbntre, the secretary; ground committee, Motors Stevenson, Lakin and C. J. King; selection committee, tlnj officers.' A vote of thanks were passed to the retiring officers. A special vote of thanks was passed to lady supporters for their valued' assistance during the year. ; . i
| The secretary outlined a movement proposed to be brought before the Centre, with «■ view to the Buller Centre being offered the annual tournament to be played at Westport, in 1935, as a gesture of good will. Members discussed the proposal and gave their approval, the delegate being authorised to bring the matter before the Centre and Clubs, as he deemed to be advisable.
