Jifew , Zealand Ski Championship meeting commenced at Mount Cook today, there being excellent racing from the top of Ball Pass (7,200 ft) in the New Zealand down hill championship, which was won by H. H. Elsworthy (Tasman Club), who ran the last 3*50 yards on two broken skis. I. V. Bryant (Tasman) was second; H. ,-Wigley (Tasman) third; and R: O. Marie (Ruapehu) fourth. Elsworthy won by 40sec in smin 53 2-ssec. The women’s down lull championship resulted: Mrs A: B. Edwards (Christchurch Club), 6min 4'sec, 1; Miss H. Richards (W.indwhistle Club) 2; Miss L. Paynton (Christchurch Club) 3 ; ’ Miss H. Montgomery (Christchurch Club) 4. -. The Aorangi down bill, which was postponed last week, resulted: L. Vv Bryant (Tasman) 1; W. B. Myhie (C.S.C.) 2. Women’s down hill race: Mrs Edwards 1; Miss Payton 2. Aorangi combined championship.—• Bryant 1, Myhre 2- Dr. Frankel 3. Women's championship: Mr s Edwards I, Mrs Williams (A. 5.0.) 2, Mrs G. Jones 3. Bryant won the Hudson Cup.
