The New Zealand basketball championships were brought to a conclusion to-day in ideal summer weather. The attendance throughout has been very good, hut to-day a record crowd was present, estimated at two thousand. In tlie first grade Auckland won the New, Zealand championship with ten points, Wellington being runners up with eight points, followed by Southland with six, Canterbury f o ur, Otago two, Hawkes Bay non©,. In the second.grade, Waikato, South Canterbury and Poverty Bay were equal for championship honours, and each Association holds the President’s trophy for four months.
