Ross Crawsliaw, aged 21, the son of Mr Frank Crawsliaw, ex-Mayor of Oam. aru, met bis death in tragic circumstances yesterday. In company with F. Swinard, and L. Faid, Crawsliaw engaged in shooting sliags six niiles be-

yond Dr.-Glow’s property, at Tapui

Crawsliaw was found dead with severe injuries to bis head below a eliiff 200 feet high. A- large boulder alongside the body had apparently been loosened by recent rains and fell from the top of the cliff on the unfortunate young man.

Deceased was a prominent Oamaru swimmer.
