The Municipal Band visited Westland Hospital yesterday afternoon, there being a large number of the public present. An enjoyable musical programme was supplied by tile Band, which was greatly enjoyed. The band were afterwards entertained by the Matron at afternoon tea,

The West Coast golf tournament concluded at the Mahinapua links on Saturday afternoon, and was very successful from all points of view except that of the weather, At the conclusion of play in the afternoon the trophies won during the tournament were presented by Mr J. 0. Mac’.'arjane, Warm appreciation of the hospitality, shown the visitors, and congratulations to the Hokitika Club on the successful management of the tournament were expressed on behalf of the Westport and Greymouth Clubs, Chief credit in this connection is undoubtedly due to the work of Mesdames Dorreen and Wilson and Mr W. E-. Brown, who in secretarial capacity were responsible for the great part of the organisation which left little to be desired.

There was considerable aviation activity on and above the Hokitika airport during the week-end, and both the Redwing and Spartan planes made frequent flights. church. Father McKay, formerly of Hokitika, who is a visitor here for a few days, made a duel flight in the Redwing yesterday, and afterward flew solo for 20 minutes. Altogether the Redwing was in the air for four hours yesterday.
