A NEW PROPOSAL
INITIATIVE BY BRITAIN.

At the Institute of Pacific Relations steps were taken on Thursday to or-, ganise a new interna..:tonal group 0 -f all socialists in those countries having interests in the Pacific area.
The initiative in forming this new group was taken by Lord Snell, a member of the British group attending the conference, acting da association wuh Mr Walter Nash, Labour 'M.P., thy leader of the New Zealand group.
Mr Nash explained that the effort would be made in the interests ,o.f. tho leading .Socialists of every country having contacts, with the Pacific area with a view to exchanging information. He said that valuable work oould bo done for humanity through such an interchange and the labour organisations of the world would benefit. Whether a more formal organisation would be effected later, Mr Nash could not say, although an effort would bo made in uhat direction. Mr Nosh lalso indicated that tho new group would vigorously oppose Bolshevism and Communism and the more rabid farms of modern Socialism, It was defined as a sane, moderate and constructive Socialist movement.
