INTERNATIONAL PRICE FIXATION

There was a full meeting of the Wheat conference this afternoon when reports of two sub-committees ■were considered. It was agreed that the international wheat price should be on free gold prices, the period during which the average quotation for wheat it to -be maintained before it will be necessary for the importng countries to adjust tariffs, being four months.

A further effort will he made tomorrow to agree on the- average price which shall bring this agreement into force.

' The international wheat price will be calculated in accordance with Stafford University (California) methods, being the average /price of. all parcels of imported wheat of all grades sold weekly "at all British port#; . It was agreed that each of the foul principal exporting countries. Australia, Canada, Argentine, United States and t-lie-Soviet,- should be separately, represented, and the Danubian countries should' have two iepresentatives. Importing countries are themselves to decide which of. theii number will, be .represented. The headquarters will meet again to-morrow, whjen it is hoped to conclude the conference. -
