A party of school teachers numbering thirty from Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin, left by Newmans’ Motors' Ltd. cars this morning for- Franz Joset, and Fox glaciers

Squadron Leader Wilkes, of the New Zealand Air Force, who has been oil a visit to the West Coast, returned yesterday to Christchurch During his stay he paid a visit to Waiho 'and also made an inspection of Hokitika, aerodrome. It is understood that considerable improvements are being considered, here, which will entail an increase in the area ,and embrace the extension of the ground to the south affecting Fisherman’s and Mahinapua Creek's. The proposal will form, the subject of a report by the visiting officer to the Government. If given effect to, the proposals will have farreaching effect on the status of the local aerodrome, and involve a substantial t expenditure. : ; : - -A
