A half share in the winning ticket in the Golden Chest ; a.rt union for Sydney city charities, carrying a prize valued at £3OOO, was held by Air C. N. Spencer, proprietor of the Taneatua Hotel.. The ticket was bought in the name of Air George Peebles, son of Air G. C. Peebles, storekeeper, of Taneatua. Three tickets were 'Purchased.

Air Peebles and Air Spencer each paid f-or one and spun the coin to deride who should pay for, the third. It fell the lot of Air Spencer to A pay and it was' the odd ticket .which the first prize. Underf their, arrangement they divide the prize... ,
