ECLIPSE OF THE SUN. (Australian Press Association). DARWIN. August 22. An eclipse of the sun began at 3.55 (local time). The greatest phase was at 5.2 p.m., when over nine-tenth® of the surface wag covered. The eclipse ended at 6.9. The sky was clear and there was an excellent view. A full view was obtained of the Katherine, two hundred miles distant, which was in the track of the annular phase.
