Time-payment pansoms appear likely to be the next development in the kidnapping industry. Nathan Bass, a sports promoter, wlas seized last night by five Broadway gunmen, who an hour later demanded 25,C00 dollars (£SOOO at par) from his brother.

Early to-day the kidnappers released Nathan on becoming convinced that he could not raise such a large amount of cash.

“We got him on an easy payment plan,” laughed his brothel Aithui who admitted Paying 2000 dollars in cash and promising to pay 2000 more on September 1.
