AMERICAN INSULTED
BY NAZI TROOPER STRUCK FOR NOT SALUTING. (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, August 18. The “Daily Alail’s” Berlin correspondent states : The American Consul has strongly protested against a Nazi assault on an American, Doctor Daniel Alulvihill, whom- a Nazi S-torni Troo-pcr violently struck on the face because he refuged to salute a Nazi detachment which passed while D r Alulvihill was standing in the Unterehlimden in Berlin. The Consul lias informed, the German' Government that if there are ■further such cases of insult dr of maltreatment >of Americans, the United •States ‘Government would warn Americans not to come to Germany. A Frenchman was similarly assaulted in Berlin last week.

It is stated the machines will he piloted by Austrian emigrants, thus avoiding any charge that Germany is violating Austrian independence.
