INVERCARGILL, Augustlß,
Three special trains pulled out of here to-night, bearing about seven hundred Southlanders, bound for Lancaster Park, Christchurch, where they hope to see Southland defeat Canterbury in the Ranfurly Shield match to J morrow. There was great enthusiasm at the station ns each train departed. ' It is expected that the number which left here will he •considerably ircreased by the time that Dunedin is reached. The Southland Pipe Band is accompanying the excursionists. Among the luggage is a sack of oysters donated by a • local merchant for presentation to the Canterbury Rugby Union. , - 4
