In view‘of . the longstanding engagement of ( tlie British team to compete in Finland oil September 3, the recent participation of Nurmi in the Finnish amateur athletic, championships . raises difficult problem. The Finnish authoriities refuse to recognise Nurmi’s suspension, and are certain to include him against the British team, members of which, .if they compete against him, will 'technically ljiise , their amatuer statfis, and-will'therefore be finable to participate in the Olympic Games.
