OBITUARY

The death took place yesterday at Wellington, -of Airs . Alice Brown, wife of George Brown late of Blackball. The deceased was .a daughter of the late Richard Gregory of Brunner and is survived by one brother William John Gregory of Ahaura, and three sisters.

The death took place at Cobden on Tuesday night of Airs Agnes Hall, aged 84 years, after a brief illness. She «as born at Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland and «wa ß predeceased by her husband some forty years. The deceased had been a resident of Brunner and Runanga, (where she resided for 30 years) since her arrival in New Zealand 46 years ago. She leaves one son, and two daughters.

The death took place at Christchurch oil Tuesday of Air William John F-ree-bnry, a former well known resident of Hokitika. He. was accountant for Alessrs Chesney and Co. for some years when Messrs Keech and Molloy had charge of the business, and later fer a .while carried on business as an accountant, before leaving for Christchurch Deceased was over 50 years of age and leaves a widow, a sister in Christchurch and two brothers (Paul, ih Oamaru, and another in Australia.)

Mrs Harriet Burnett, wife of 'Mr H. B. Burnett, Superintendent of the Auckland Harbour Board (and formerly . secretary of the Greymouth Harbour Board) died at her residence, Great South Road, Remuera, on Tuesday evening. Mrs Burnett was’a daughter of the late Hon. James Iverr, who from 1892 to the time of his death in

1901, represented the West Coast in the Legislative Council.’ Airs Burnett ■who is a native of Greymouth, is survived by five sons, James, Noel, Duncan, William (Auckland), and Harold (Dunedin) ; and two daughters, Mieses - Anne, and Hetti Burnett, of Auckland. Airs J. McKenzie, Alisses Keer (Greymouth), Airs Oaig*(Rotokohu), Airs W. Yates (Christchurch), and Airs 'Milne (Auckland) are sisters, and Alessrs William and James, Kerr, of Petone, are brothers of the deceased.
