LOAN POLL CARRIED.

DUNEDIN, August 15
A poll of the ratepayers of Dunedin, held on a proposal to raise a loan of £185,000 to augment the city water supply from Deep Stream, was carried on a small poll by a majority of nearly six to one. the voting being: for the proposal, 5319; against 960. A total of 6307 ratepayers registered their votes out of a total .of /21,000 on the roll.
