ABOLITION OF PORTS PROPOSED.

AUCKLAND, July 26

The abolition of the medical examination by port health officers of passenger vessels arriving from intercolonial ports is to be recommended by the Auckland Harbour Board • to the Minister of Health. A report submitted to the Board said that medical ' officers were now carried on all passenger veesels and the medical examination at Australian ports had been discontinued for some years. At present, all vessels arriving at Dominion ports from outside New Zealand waters, are subject to medical examination on arrival.
