The .death occurred yesterday morning at Blaketown, of John Samuel Cain, on his 81st birthday, A native of Victoria, he came to New Zealand 56 years ago, and settled at G r eymouth. For 20, years he worked as a cartage contractor and then took on coal min, ing at .Rapahoe, He retired ten year? ago, but. tlje nune is now carried on by his ’'son. Deceased had ailing for six months. He :;s survived by hi,j wife, one son, and four daughters.
