DANNEVIRKE, July 22,

Relative to recent comment: at the Dannevirke Chamber of Commerce of the absence of business men in the : Cabinet, Hon.. A, E. Ransom at Wimoledon yesterday referring to the subject, said criticism had been made when the chamber had been discussing the next appointment of AttorneyGeneral. He had nothing to say against, the representatives in that connection, but .he took strong: exception to the statement, “that at.present they had not the benefit of a single bus* inessman from the House of Represen* tatives in the cabinet.” The Minister took very strong ex* ception to this statement, specially coming from a Chamber bf Commerce in his own electorate. The statement was untrue and was calculated to discredit members of the Cabinet in the eyes of the public. The Minister claimed that all members of the Cabinet had business training in some, special direction or other. At the present time ft was very essential that the country should be represented in Parliament by farmers, with successful business experience. It took good businessmen to run a farm nowadays. The Minister quoted details of his own business experience at Dannevirke, and bis connection with various bodies, and gave similar 'exhaustive details repecting other members of the Cabinet. “Every single members of whom has had a wide business experience.’*
