TWO POISONED
MOTHER AND CHILD DEAD.
INQUEST HELD AT HASTINGS.

HASTINGS, July 18,
The death, by poisoning of Mrs Ulsie Verna Anderson, aged 26, and of her three-year-old daughter, Verna Irene Anderson, at Hastings, on June 25 last was the subject of an inquest to-day when a verdict was returned that-the infant deceased died as the result oi poisoning administered by her mother who also died as the result qf poisoning administered hv herself, while in a ’state I’b'f mental depression ,brought about mainly by ill health, -
The evidence showed that the -Anderson’s were'not in any immediate distress' always having plenty of food, and no (need to Worry oh that ‘account. Mrs Anderson had had l ' one Operation-, and she knew that' another had’ to be performed' sooner of*’later.- ■ She had been very ’• dfespoli'deht, as -n result since last: Christmas, .but ‘had never hinted at doing herself any harm. There waspoison in ’the house, which the lmsbaiwi of deceased and his brother had used for rabbiting. This was kept in a bottle, which was found under -tho hod on the occasion of the deaths.
