N.Z. LEADERS
FEW OF OUTSTANDING ABILITY
MAJOR W. NASH’S OPINION,
LONDON, July 14
C Major William Nash, of the Cray Valley Paper Mills, St. Paul’s Cray, has'returned from a visit to Australia and New Zealand.
In an interview published in the “Side-up Times” Major Nash remarks: “Although a finer race of human beings than the New Zealanders would be hard to. find, there are very few men or women of oUtsanding ability and character available to lead tlie nation, either in politics or industrial offices. This may perhaps be due to the fact that- although the area of New Zealand, is much the same as the British Isles , the population is little more than that of Glasgow or Birmingham. Another possible reason is that the New Zealand.... electorate isso democratically minded that- even if men of . outstanding ability and character were available it is doubtful if they would be considered representative of the people. ’
