Tile story of the theft of eight gold .nuggets frotm a (■miner’s house at Waiuta, hear Greymouth, last November, was unfolded in court this morning when' George. Ling appeared |0» remand' charged with stealing gold from'’Joseph Divis to the value of £5 9s: Ling pleaded guilty. /It was stated that Ling was engaged by Div.is fo do carpentering work in his house, ' for which Divis paid him £lO. Divis missed a Bottle containing the eight nuggets. Later it was shown by the accused to people about AVaiuta.
The magistrate asked for a report ffiy the probation officer .and Line was ’remanded in custody till Wednesday.
