“That the Government, in making its, next appointment to the Legislative Council bo recommended to appoint a leading member of the Bar to fill the position oL&ttorney-GeneTal,” was the resolution passed by the Daunevirko Chamber of Commerce, on the motion Of Mr A. McNicril, who said the position’was most important and should be filled by a man capable of advising Cab:;ihet on principles of British Law, and pot on political theories.
At present he said; they had not the 'benefit of a single business man from the House of Representatives in the 'Cabinet. It was absurd that a layman like Mr Fofbes should hold the Attor-ney-Generalship. This office should be one of the most important in the 'Cabinet. -
