CALCUTTA, July 17

A case of kidnapping for ransom in Bombay was revealed yesterday when the murdered body of a wealthy Guzerati merchant, Hilmat Lai was found on the foreshore. Ilimat Lai left his offices at nine in the morning, and shortly afterwards, a clerk received an ultimaluin that, unless five thousand rupees were deposited at a certain spot, he would be killed. The clerk informed the police but apparantly they were too late to prevent the murder.
