TOBACCO THEFT
CHARGE AGAINST CHINAMAN AN ALLEGED DREG ADDICT (Pe Press Association — OopyiiQht.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 15. A Chinese who snatched itobacco from the hands of a detective in two occasions, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court. The case was adjourned for four months after- ChiefDetective Dunlop had statecl that' accused was probably a drug addict. Accused was Low IToon Sheotig, alias Lowe Hoon Shey, thirty-eight years of-age, a gardener, of Middleton, and be was charged with being an idle and disorderly person in that he had no lawful visible means of Siipport. Accused gave no sign of uhdcistanding when (the charge was read out. Chief-Detective Dunlop said that he was not satisfied'regarding the men.taiiiy._oi;_ac.cused,J,wlio.,yyas, probably a drug addict.
