(To the Editor.)

Sir.—With reference to your recent article on the “river, of gold ” The Watai’oa was once ia good river, but now lit i 3 only in old river beds that gold is found, and then only in patches. I event there to seek my fortune and I think it will be two or three months more before I have mv ddbts .cleared off.

Debts that, I have incurred during my sojourn on this famous river, There j;s one party of men (two) who have been there four months .for two ounces of gold and they are nine ‘miles up. Perhaps if they went another ninety they may knockout something.
