NEW ZEALANDS PRESENT NEED

CHRISTCHURCH, July 12
The need for opening up new markets in the East for New Zealand primary produce was emphasised by Mr D. W. AVestenra at a meeting of the general committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, to-day. He said that the Dominionshould act, in view of Great Britain’s increased activity in primary production.
It is high time be said, that the Dominion awoke to the fact that it had too look for new markets. There was a population of eight, hundred millinos in the East, and {his included
a large section which would buy New Zealand exports It was decided to refer the question to the Meat Board.
