MONEY STOLEN
NELSON SAFES BLOWN OPEN.

Three safes on the premises of Messrs Neale and Haddow, grain and seed merchants, were blown open during the night, and a. sum of between £6O and £7O stolen. The burglary was carried out in apparently a professional manner, bags being used to deaden the sound. It is evident that the safe burglary was deliberately planned and carried out */y no amateur hands. Bags of meat and seeds and about 50 empty sacks wer used to deaden the sound. Entrance was gained at the back of the premises. Two cash boxes were removed, one of which contained trust papers, while the other held money and quite a number of documents valuable only to the firm. These were found in the railway yards adjoining, the money °nly being taken. SAFE BLOWN. MARTON, June 28.
