RICH GOLD FIND
SYNDICATE SECURES OPTION. HIGH PRICE ANTICIPATED. (Per Press Association — Copyright .; DUNEDIN, June 29. In connection with the rich gold discovery made at Dead Man’s Point, Cromwell, it was reported to-day that a syndicate representing London, Australian and New Zealand capital has secured an option over the claim which is 67 acres in extent. The sum of £SO was paid for an option for one month, and if the option is then exercised, Messrs Russell and party will receive £17,000 in cash and 3000 paid up £1 shares. The option can be renewed at the end of the month for two further nionths by the payment of £IOO. Although this may seem a large sum, yet some amounts almost as large have been offered for other claims in the district. Negotiations are being completed for the purchase of one area on the River Kawarau for £15,000, and several others in the vicinity have been sought at prices on a par with this.
