NEW YORK, June 28

Mr Ellsworth to-day announced that he has, changed his expedition plans. He will now go directly to New Zealand, instead of going to Norway. He expects to sail from San Francisco on July 14. He will lie accompanied by his wife. They will spend half a week at Honolulu. Thence they are going to Auckland.

He is leaving early so as to allow time for mountain climbing in southern Switzerland.
